🇮🇪 Bunmahon Sauna & Seaweed Baths
Bunmahon Beach, Copper Coast · Waterford · Ireland
Set on Bunmahon Beach in the heart of the Copper Coast UNESCO Geopark — a stretch of Waterford coastline shaped by 460-million-year-old volcanic rock and centuries of copper mining, with dramatic sea stacks, coves, and a raw Atlantic exposure that makes it unlike anywhere else in Ireland. Sessions combine wood-fired sauna heat with traditional seaweed baths: warm tubs infused with freshly harvested Atlantic seaweed, rich in iodine, magnesium, and minerals that have been used in Irish coastal wellness traditions for centuries. A cold Atlantic plunge on the beach completes the circuit. Located 25 minutes from Waterford city with parking at the beach, it pairs well with a drive along the full Copper Coast between Dungarvan and Tramore, one of the country's most underrated coastal routes.
